Solstice on Iona and Mull 2026
Developed over a week on the Isle of Iona and Isle of Mull, built from conversations, film, 3D scans and field recordings, this work builds a narrative experience of the ecology, history and human stories from residents and visitors of the islands.
Mull contains multiple neolithic, man-made sites with standing stones and a stone circle shrouded in mystery, while Iona remains the 'cradle of christianity', historically known as the starting point for Christianity in Scotland and Northern England. The islands are known for their rich biodiverisry, and remain places of spiritual significance for a huge range of spiritual practitioners, Pagan and Christian alike, while holding stories of social and environmental change from the locals and the landscape.
The live audio visual work was performed live at Iona Village Hall during the summer solstice sunset for local residents.
